Former LSU standout Wendell Harris, All-SEC running back and NFL veteran, dies at 83

Wendell Harris, the successor to Billy Cannon as LSU’s halfback in the early 1960s and a key contributor to the Tigers’ 1961 Southeastern Conference championship run, died Sunday. He was 83.
