RALEIGH, NC – The LSU softball team fell to NC State 3-1 Friday evening, the Tigers move to 24-14 on the season while NC State improves to 22-11. The Tigers look to bounce back tomorrow with a double header against NC State, the first game is set to start at 4 p.m. followed by the second game at 6:30 p.m. In the top of the first inning Ciara Briggs got it started for the Tigers with a solo shot over the right center wall to take a 1-0 lead. Shelbi Sunseri kept NC State off the board and allowed only two hits through five innings. The Tigers made the switch in the circle to Ali Kilponen in the bottom of the sixth after NC State put two runners on. NC State capitalized with runners on base and added a homerun that let them take a 3-1 lead over the Tigers. Despite fighting back late in the game the Tigers couldn't push any more runs across and fell in the first game of the weekend, 3-1. Check back later for a full game recap.
